Žďár nad Sázavou /Stavba kostelní lodi dlouhé 76 m byla zahájena inhend po založení kláštera v roce 1252.

Kostel byl postaven podle cisterciáckých řádových vzorů a byl přestavěn v období baroka stavitelem Janem Santinim Aichlem.
